Nepal suffered a 14-1 defeat against Uzbekistan in their maiden international futsal match at the AFC Futsal Championship Qualifiers in Iran on Sunday.
Nepal conceded seven goals in each half in their Group ‘A’ match. Nepal next play Kyrgyzstan on Monday and Turkme-nistan on Tuesday.
Hosts Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan are placed in group B. The winners and runners-up from all eight groups will earn tickets for the final round to be played next year in Chinese Taipei. Skipper Suraj Raut scored the consolation goal for Nepal in the 40-minute match. (PR)
