Eklal Shrestha was elected unopposed to the post of president of Nepal Chess Association by the 5^th General Assembly of the Association in Hetauda on Sunday. Earlier, Shrestha was General Secretary of the Association.

Bidur Prasad Gautam was elected unopposed to the post of Association’s senior vice-president. Likewise, Hera Kaji Maharjan to General Secretary, Dharam Lama to Secretary, Gyanendra Mharajan to Treasurer and Gyanendra Parajuli to Co-treasurer of the Association were also elected unopposed.

Election officer Kul Bahadur Thapa said that election will be held for four Vice-president and nine members of the Association.

The General Assembly was inaugurated by former Minister for Youth and sports Purushottam Poudel on Saturday.

The General Assembly will nominate 19-member central committee for the period of four years.
