Kathmandu
Players and officials of Nepali football team received grand welcome upon their arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday.
Nepal had claimed Bangabandhu Gold Cup, their first major trophy after 23 years, defeating Bahrain 3-0 in the final at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Bangladesh. The last time they had won the gold was in 1993 South Asian Games—at the same venue.
Thousands of football fans, Anfa officials, former players, friends and relatives of players reached the airport to welcome their heros. A rally was taken out from the airport to honour the champions.
