Deep Saun, Shiva Sunder Gothe, Chandan Shahi, Rakesh Maharjan, Prajwol Shrestha, Binesh Khaniya, Ganesh Tamang and Suman Shakya advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the men’s singles event during the first Kala Bohara Memorial National Open Table Tennis Championships on Sunday.
Joining them in the last 16 from another pool were Purushottam Bajracharya, Amar Lal Malla, Mani Kumar Lama, Ashish Awale, Sunil Maharjan, Nihal Shrestha, Avay Raj Shrestha and Bilosh Shrestha.
Making it to the quarter-finals in the women’s singles category were Elina Maharjan, Nabita Shrestha, Swechhya Nembang, Erica Maharjan, Selisha Khadgi, Apechhya Shakya and Kajol Rauniyar.
Syantu Shrestha, Ritiz Joshi, Subodh Limbu, Dilip Gurung, Tendi Sherpa, Shasank Shah, Sandip Magar, Bibek Thapa, Krishna Thapa Magar, Karan Rai, Narayan Ghimire, Mahabir Chaudhary, Rajatman Thakku, Rikesh Shrestha, Nikesh Shrestha and Rekhan Tamang advanced to the last 16 in the junior boys’ singles category on Sunday. Dikshya Tamang, Sonu Thapa Magar, Norden Tamang, Sujata Duwal, Dikshya Dahal, Gita Aryal, Anju Suwal and Soniya Tamang secured their places in the juniors girls’ singles event.
