Six held in connection with gold theft in Dang
According to police, four girls aged 14 and one 16-year-old boy were allegedly involved in the burglary.

olice have arrested six people, including five minors, for their alleged involvement in a theft at a house in Rapti Rural Municipality of Dang district.
According to police, four girls aged 14 and one 16-year-old boy were allegedly involved in the burglary. A jewellery shop owner has also been arrested for allegedly purchasing the stolen goods.
On March 6, around 20 tolas (233.27625) of raw gold, gold ornaments, and a laptop were stolen from the house of Tara Gautam in ward 7 of the rural municipality. The theft occurred while Gautam and her children had moved temporarily to a new residence in Lamahi.
When she returned home the next morning, she found the door lock broken and reported the incident to the police.
During initial investigations, police detained five minors on May 24, who confessed to the theft.
Based on their statement, police identified Dev Bahadur Bishwakarma, owner of Rahul Jewellery Shop in Lamahi, as the buyer of the stolen items. Bishwakarma, originally from Gulmi, was also taken into custody.
Police Inspector Kabiraj Rokaya, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Dang, said that police recovered several gold items from Bishwakarma’s shop. Additionally, police seized 37,500 Indian rupees, Rs9,000, a digital gold weighing scale, and a gold melting pump.
Further investigation is underway.
