Bardiya

A nine-year-old girl died after being attacked by a leopard in Bardiya on Monday morning.

The incident occurred at the Saryu Community Forest located in Dumping Site, ward 8 of Gulariya Municipality.

According to police, the girl from ward 6 of Geruwa Rural Municipality was attacked while collecting grass and firewood in the forest with her aunt.

She died during treatment at the Bardiya District Hospital, said Superintendent of Police Kedar Khanal.

Khadka had come to visit her aunt’s house a few days ago.

Three people have died in leopard attacks in Bardiya since November last year.
