The fire, which originated in the Banchare Danda forest area of Jure Danda, engulfed the home and shed of local resident Dil Bahadur Saru, according to local Shalikram Pandey. Whipped up by strong winds, the blaze reached the thatched shed, destroying both the house and the adjoining structure.
According to the Keladi Police Post, livestock, including cows, buffaloes and 20 goats, along with food grains, utensils, and clothing, were destroyed in the fire. The preliminary police estimate puts the damage at around Rs2.5 million.
