A young woman, Tika Bista Chhetri, a resident of Buddhanagar, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan-11, was shot in Buddhanagar by a group of unidentified people.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Karki, the information officer for the Butwal District Police Office, she is undergoing treatment at Lumbini Provincial Hospital as she is severely injured after being hit by the bullet above her waist.

Karki said that the reason behind the shooting and the identity of the assailant are yet to be known. Police have reached the scene and initiated an investigation.

Chhetri, who is originally from Rainadevi Rural Municipality, currently lives in Butwal.
