Bhairahawa
Police arrested four individuals with 20kg of hashish from a hotel in Bhairahawa on Friday morning.
A joint team from the Narcotics Control Bureau’s Bhairahawa branch and Ward Police Office apprehended them at Chandra Surya Hotel in Buddha Chowk following a tip-off, said bureau chief Sagar Bhattarai.
The suspects, all from Gajuri in Dhading, had booked the hotel room on Wednesday under the names Sujan Lama of Balaju, Kathmandu, and Deepak Tamang of ward 8 of Gajuri Rural Municipality, Dhading.
One suspect managed to escape.
The seized hashish, valued at over Rs900,000 in Nepal, was being smuggled to India, where its price is significantly higher, Bhattarai said.
