An auto-rickshaw accident in Dang on Wednesday afternoon claimed one life and left two others injured. The incident occurred when the Ra 1 Ha 5904 auto-rickshaw, travelling from Rajpur to Koilabas, overturned on the Gadhawa–Koilabas road section at Gadhwa Rural Municipality–5, Kakrahawa.

Tuluram BK, 50, a resident of Rajpur Rural Municipality–3, Bhainsahawa, was critically injured and later succumbed during treatment at Rapti Health Sciences Institute in Ghorahi, according to District Police Spokesperson DSP Ishwar Thapa. The auto-rickshaw reportedly lost control and overturned while negotiating a sharp turn.

Two other passengers, Basanti BK, 40, and Premchandra Yadav, 36, both from Bhainsahawa, sustained injuries. BK is receiving treatment at Lamahi Hospital, while Yadav is being treated at Rapti Health Sciences Institute in Ghorahi.

The driver of the auto-rickshaw, Madan BK, 40, also from Bhainsahawa, has been taken into custody as authorities conduct further investigations into the incident, DSP Thapa added.
