A 14-year-old boy was arrested on charge of raping a four-year-old girl in ward 9 of Kapilvastu Municipality.

According to the police, the accused had committed the crime at around 6pm on Friday. He was immediately taken into police custody.

“We have taken action as per the preliminary information. Further investigation into the matter is underway,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Wali.

The victim has been taken to the Lumbini Province Hospital in Butwal for treatment.
