Policeman nabbed on charge of killing his wife on duty

Assistant Head Constable Yam Bahadur Jhankri of Nepal Police has been arrested on the charge of killing his wife, Dhanmaya Thapa, who was also in the same force.
Jhankri is suspected to have shot his wife to death while she was on her duty at Damodar chowk in Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City, Dang on Thursday evening. According to the District Police Office, she was shot three times in the waist.
According to the police personnel involved in the investigation, Jhankri was arrested from the Arjunkhola area while fleeing the scene after firing at his wife. They said an investigation into the incident is underway.
Police also said that Jhankri and Thapa were in the process of getting divorced owing to bitter relations.
