Rastriya Prajatantra Party chair Rajendra Lingden has been elected a House of Representatives member from Jhapa-3. It is second consecutive win for him from the constituency.

Lingden defeated Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula by a margin of 3,276 votes. As per the final results, Lingden got 40,648 votes against Sitaula who settled at 37,372 votes.

Likewise, Prakash Pathak of the Rastriya Swatantra Party received 2,986 votes.

Lingden started his political journey in 2036 BS by joining Rastriya Swatantra Bidyarthi Mandal. He became district secretary of Rastriya PrajtantraParty in 2047 BS. Lingden became the founding member of the student wing of Rastriya Prajatantra Party in 2049 BS and a central committee member of RPP-Nepal in 2066 BS. He also worked as the Chairman of Jhapa District Committee for two years from 2061 BS.
