Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala is trailing significantly in Morang-6 as vote counting continues following Thursday’s parliamentary elections.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Rubina Acharya has surged ahead with 18,281 votes, leaving Koirala with 4,221 votes—a deficit of 14,060 votes. CPN-UML’s Binod Prasad Dhakal is in third place with 3,163 votes.
Koirala had won this constituency in 2022 with 35,213 votes, defeating CPN-UML’s Lalbabu Pandit.
