Two killed in tanker-motorcycle collision in Saptari

Two people died after a tanker and a motorcycle collided head-on in ward 10 of Kanchanrup Municipality in Saptari district on Friday.
The accident occurred on the East-West Highway when a diesel-laden tanker, heading towards Bardaha from Kanchanpur, collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
A 41-year-old man from ward 3 of Harinagar Rural Municipality of Sunsari died on the spot, police said. A pillion rider, a 42-year-old man from the same area, was injured and later died while undergoing treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj.
The tanker driver, Mithilesh Yadav of ward 3 in Karjanha Municipality of Siraha, was also injured and is receiving treatment at Dharmeshwar Hospital.
According to police, the highway was briefly blocked after the accident.
