Landslides, floods disrupt vehicular movement across country for second day
27 road sections, highways obstructed on Sunday.Post Report
Incessant rainfall has severely impacted daily life nationwide for the second consecutive day with floods and landslides obstructing 27 road sections across the country on Sunday.
A landslide in Bagmati Rural Municipality of Lalitpur has blocked the Kanti Highway. Police said floods in Makalu and Bhotkhola rural municipalities have also obstructed the Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha.
Similarly, a landslide in Barahakshetra Municipality-1 of Sunsari district has blocked the Chatara-Barahakshetra road.
According to police, the Syabrubesi-Thambuchet road section has also been blocked due to a landslide in Aamachhodingmo Rural Municipality-5 of Rasuwa.
A mudslide in Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-3 of Chitwan has reduced traffic to one-way operation on the Prithvi Highway.
The Bhimphedi-Kathmandu-Hetauda road is operating one-way due to a landslide in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-4, located in Makawanpur. Another mudslide in ward 8 of the same rural municipality has caused one-way traffic on the Kanti Highway.
The BP Highway is operating with one-way traffic due to a landslide in Roshi Rural Municipality of Kavre. The Chame-Besisahar road section has been blocked due to flooding in Chame Rural Municipality of Manang. The Beni-Darbang road is blocked due to a landslide in Beni Municipality-4 of Myagdi, while the Beni-Jomsom road is blocked due to a landslide in Kushma Municipality of Parbat district.
Police said travellers are facing hardships as the Muldhunga-Beni road and Siddhartha Highway are operating with one-way traffic. Due to a landslide in Myagde Rural Municipality of Tanahun, the Prithvi Highway is also operating with one-way traffic. The Kaligandaki Corridor in Nawalparasi East and the Mid Hill Highway in Baglung are blocked due to landslides.
In Pyuthan, the Syauliwa-Bagdula and Bhalubang-Pyuthan roads have been blocked due to floods and landslides.
Similarly, in Palpa, the Siddhartha Highway, Tamghas-Butwal road, and Kaligandaki Corridor are operating with one-way traffic.
The Ridi-Baglung road section, Kaligandaki Corridor, and Madan Bhandari Highway have been obstructed in Gulmi.
Likewise, the Gorusinge-Sandhikharka and Palpa-Arghakhanchi roads have been blocked due to landslides.
A mudslide has blocked the Shahid Highway in Rolpa, while the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section in Dang has been reduced to one-way traffic.
Karnali Highway is blocked in Kalikot due to a landslide. The Sanfe-Martadi road in Achham, Jaya Prithvi Highway in Baitadi, and Bhimdatta Highway in Dadeldhura have been completely blocked.
According to Nepal Police, the Bajhang-Khodpe road section in Baitadi and the Sanfe-Martadi road section in Bajura are operating with one-way traffic.
