Nepal Oil Corporation jacks up fuel prices

The Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products with effect from Wednesday midnight.
The state-owned monopoly hiked the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre, diesel/kerosene by Rs2 per litre and LP gas by Rs15 per cylinder.
Consumers will now have to pay Rs170 per litre for petrol in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal.
They have to pay Rs169 for a litre of petrol in Surkhet and Dang and Rs167.50 in Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj.
Likewise, a litre of diesel and kerosene will now cost Rs158 in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal; Rs157 in Surkhet and Dang; and Rs155.50 in Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj.
A cylinder of cooking gas will now cost Rs1,910, according to NOC.
