Parbat

Three people have gone missing after a flood in the Tamadi river washed away a jeep in Kushma Municipality-3 of Parbat district along the Mid-Hill Highway on Saturday.

The flooded river washed away the jeep heading to Pokhara from Baglung at around 7pm, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khumlal Bhusal, who is the chief of Parbat District Police Office.

He said the jeep was swept away while the driver was preparing to add support to the vehicle that was stuck in the middle of the river.

Bhusal said police have arrested the jeep driver.

All the missing are men but their identity is yet to be ascertained, police said.

Locals and a team from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army are searching for the missing passengers.

Police said they are facing difficulties in the search operation due to rainfall.
