Chainpur tense after child dies in road mishap

Tension ran high in Chainpur, the headquarters of Bajhang district, on Saturday afternoon after irate locals and the kin of a child died who died in a road mishap, resorted to protest.
According to police, a three-year-old child of Surma Rural Municipality-3 died after he was hit by a bus at a bridge at around 2pm today.
The child, who was seriously injured in the mishap, died while undergoing treatment at Bajhang District Hospital.
Police have detained the bus driver, Ganesh Bohara of Purchaudi Municipality-5, for an investigation.
Locals and the kin of the deceased have demanded action against the bus driver and compensation to the victim’s family.
