Gandaki Province Assembly member-elect from Manang, Rajeev Gurung, also known as Deepak Manange, has joined CPN (Unified Socialist).
Gurung, an independent candidate in the recently held general elections, was elected unopposed as province lawmaker from Manang constituency 1 (B).
Gurung made the announcement on Monday by posting a photograph with CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and party leader Krishna Kumar Shrestha.
Gurung had earlier served as a minister in the Gandaki government from the CPN-UML.
