Kantipur Television marks its 17th anniversaryKMG Chairman Sirohiya says the experience of the pandemic is only going to make the media house stronger.
Kantipur Television has completed its 17th years of operation, and celebrated the anniversary in a small event amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing the gathering of its staff at its Tinkune office on Monday, Kantipur Media Group Chairman and Managing Director Kailash Sirohiya congratulated all the staff who have been working relentlessly through the challenges posed by the pandemic.
“We fought through different odds during the course of our journey for the establishment of democracy in the country. We endured the devastating earthquake of 2015. And now, we are dealing with an invisible enemy. Let’s hope we will get through the other side of this pandemic soon and safely,” said Sirohiya.
He said the experience of the Covid-19 pandemic is only going to make the media house stronger with fresh and passionate team members joining the Kantipur team.
Kantipur Television station head Dinesh DC said the Covid-19 is not going to deter the channel from its task of keeping the public informed.
“We are the leading media house in the country. We have experts in all fields, and we are equipped with all the facilities so we are going to make optimum use of our resources to show our exceptional work skills at this difficult situation,” said DC.
Six Kantipur Television employees were also awarded at the ceremony. Sukra B. Majhi, of marketing and finance department, and Suraj Thapa, senior executive of the engineering department, were honoured with best employees awards.
Roshan Kumar Ishwor, associate executive of the news department, and Sabina Karki, sub-editor in the sports department, were also awarded for their outstanding works.
Kamal Pant, Surkhet district correspondent, and cameraman Prabin Gyawali were awarded employees of the year.
Prashant Aryal, editor-in-chief of Kantipur Television, Ganesh Agrawal,director of the TV, and other staff members were also present in the ceremony.
