With two new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 245

Nepal’s Covid-19 tally jumped to 245 after two new cases were confirmed on Thursday morning.
"Two new cases were detected in Kathmandu and Kapilvastu," said the Health Ministry in a statement. "A 32-year-old man from Chandragiri, Kathmandu and six-year-old girl from Kapilvastu have tested positive for the virus."
With the authorities expediting testing, more cases are being reported of late from various districts.
Thursday’s new cases take the total to 111 in the last three days.
After the highest single day surge of 83 so far on Tuesday, 26 cases were reported on Wednesday from various districts.
Parsa so far has reported the highest number of cases at 85. The number of cases in Kapilvastu now has reached 39.
Thirty-two cases have been reported in Udayapur, 28 in Rupandehi and 25 in Banke.
Seven Covid-19 cases have been detected in Kathmandu.
Kailali has reported four cases. Three cases each have been detected in Dhanusha, Rautahat and Bara. Mahottari, Baglung, Chitwan, Jhapa, Bhaktapur have reported two cases each.
Bhojpur, Saptari, Sarlahi Bardiya, Kanchanpur and Nawalparasi have reported one Covid-19 case each.
This article has been updated after the Health Ministry revised its tally, citing “a technical error”. Earlier, the ministry had said that five individuals in Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlahi tested positive for the virus.
