The party has around 400 central members after the party unification. They have not been given any responsibilities yet.
A Secretariat meeting of the party held on Thursday formed a task force to prepare a proposal for distribution of responsibilities among the leaders. General Secretary BishnuPaudel and Secretariat Secretary Ram BahadurThapa have been given the responsibility to prepare the proposal.
Party Secretariat has been handling the day-to-day party affairs after the unification.
Apart from that, Standing Committee and Central Committee members have not been given any post.
The organisational works of the NCP have been affected as the leaders were not assigned responsibilities.
General Secretary Paudel said that the proposal will be tabled in the next Standing Committee meeting.
The Standing Committee meeting has been summoned for October 29 and 30.
The organisational works might be resumed once the Standing Committee meeting allocates responsibility to the leaders.
Similarly, the Secretariat meeting held on Thursday also gave responsibility to Paudel and Thapa to prepare the criteria for choosing members of the province committee.
“Certain benchmark has to be set to select the persons recommended for the province members,” Paudel said. He said the standard will be set after holding discussions with the secretariat members and office bearers of the province.
Earlier, a province-level task force was formed for the formation of province committee.
The Secretariat decided to set the criteria after voices were raised demanding to set certain standard for inducting the names recommended for the province committee.
Earlier, NCP senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had expressed his displeasure over the selection of province in-charge, assistant in-charge, chairman and secretary.
He had also submitted a note of dissent to the party arguing that the decision was made in his absence.
Leader Nepal had discussed this issue at the Secretariat meeting held two days ago. The meeting had decided to set the criteria to choose the members.
Following the decision, Paudel and Thapa on Thursday have been given the responsibility to set the standard to choose the members.
The leaders have been exerting pressure on the party leadership that the responsibility should be allocated on the basis of seniority, capacity and activity.
The lower level leaders had expressed their discontent after the senior leaders started taking arbitrary decision.
Leaders said the unification process of lower level will be easy once the province committee gets full shape after the province standard is set.
