Nepal expects Chinese assistance: Defence Minister Pokharel

During a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Minister Pokharel said Nepal has expected continued support from China for the development of infrastructure.
“Newly formed government of Nepal wants to strengthen relationship with China,” said Defence Ministry, quoting Minister Pokharel as telling at the meeting.
On the occasion, Minister Pokharel underscored the need for strengthening military between the two countries.
Saying that the incumbent government is well informed about the concern and anxiety of China, Minister Pokharel said that Nepal is always in support of ‘one China policy’.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu opined that the bilateral relationship between China and Nepal will be strengthened in the coming days and China’s support to Nepal will also be expanded.
High-level officials of Chinese Embassy and Defence Secretary Binod KC, among other officials, were present at the meeting.
