Locals of Deurali, Panchakanya, Panbari and School Danda have been affected the most.
According to Dharan-6 ward member Devi BK, people are resorting to waters from Seuti and Sera Rivers for daily use.
Likewise, people of Panchakanya have been fetching water from the Nepal Water Supply Corporation near Charkose Jungle using bicycle and motorcycle.
It has been learnt that people are compelled to use contaminated waters from river, posing a threat of diarrhea and other waterborne diseases.
Anjana Subba of Shyamchok, Dharam-15, said, “Thousands of people are suffering from drinking water shortage,” adding, “The concerned authorities have not paid attention towards the plight.”
