Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police had, on June 17, arrested Rajni Agrawal, Sunil Acharya and Rajan Puri and brought them to Kathmandu for further investigation.
However, the court has remanded two doctors—Agrawal and Acharya—into police custody citing a corruption case under preview at Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The court released Puri on bail.
The court had sought the bail amount of Rs100,000 from Acharya, Rs50,000 from Puri and Rs 100,000 from Agrawal along with fine amounting Rs1.4 million from Agrawal, Rs2.7 million from Acharya and Rs350,000 from Puri.
The CIB had filed fraud charges against the arrested doctors after two weeks of investigation, it is learnt.
