Naya Shakti to register at EC next month

Speaking at a press conference organised in Dharan on Tuesday, Naya Shakti central member Ganesh Raj Rai, who is also a former AIG of Nepal Police, said, “Currently we are campaigning to familiarise Naya Shakti among general public.We are also preparing to register the party at Election Committee in mid-April.” He went on to say that they are busy documenting the charter, policy and agenda of the party.
Rai said that Naya Shakti is not ethnicity-oriented, although it is against authoritarian ruling practice. He also opined that current security agency of the country is more power-oriented rather than people-oriented and it should be changed.
Central Council member of the party, Pasang Sherpa, said that there is no alternative to amending or rewriting the constitution as it is hard to implement it under current circumstances.
Another Central Council member Rajendra Kirati also remarked that it was irrelevant to hold local election until the demands of Madhesi, Adivasi/Janajati and Tharu community were met.
