Rasuwa
A Fishtail Air helicopter crashed at Langtang in Rasuwa district on Thursday afternoon. There was no human casualty in the incident.
The accident occurred at around 3pm as it was about to take off for Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa, the helicopter company said. The aircraft was being used to ferry construction materials to earthquake-ravaged Langtang. Chopper pilot Nicholas Tard, a Swede, is said to be in normal condition.
“There was a bang soon after the pilot started the chopper. It caught fire but that was immediately extinguished itself. We smashed windshield and took the him out,” said Suppa Tamang, an eye witness of the incident. The pilot was the only one on board the aircraft when the accident happened.
