Though the landscape of Jumla is mesmerising with the beginning of snowfall this winter general life of people has been hit hard due to heavy snowfall in the district. Jumla received heavy snowfall from Tuesday evening to Thursday morning.

People were seen removing heaps of snow from their rooftops on Thursday. Movement of people, transportation and flights have been obstructed due to the snowfall. However, some of the locals seemed to welcome the snow that fell a little late than the previous year.

Meanwhie, the snowfall has come as a boon for the farmers in the region as the snow will facilitate in the irrigation of the farmlands this winter. The local Agricultural Development Office have urged the locals to collect the snow to more than 120 ponds built to collect snow water from Gajyakot to Raralihi.
