The protesters were returning after a silent rally led by Madhesi Morcha leader Upendra Yadav. The protesters barged into the compound of lawmaker Yadav’s residence at Laha Bazaar. They have also torched a jeep and a motorbike parked inside the compound.
The agitators entered the house and vandalised whatever they came across and took some household belongings.
A jeep, two motorbikes and the sitting room of the house have been completely damaged in the arson.
According to eyewitness, the protesters hurled stones at residence of Nepali Congress Siraha’s lawmaker Yadav while staging the silent rally. The protesters also set fire to the flag of the residence and put up a black flag. They also looted the household stuff from Yadav’s residence, eyewitnesses said.
