The agitating Samyukta Madhesi Morcha staged a demonstration carrying batons and home-made weapons at Malangwa, the headquarters of Sarlahi district, on Monday.

A huge mob of protestors chanted slogans against the leaders of major parties and took out a rally around the city.

Government offices and financial institutions were shut down before the rally began. 

Meanwhile, security personnel have been mobilised for the security of government offices in view of any possible untoward incident.
