Due to the hailstones and strong wind, the quake-affected people of Dhading district who were residing under plastic sheets and tarpaulins, have been left in lurch.

Sutu Tamang of Jharlang, who was residing under a tarpaulin at an open area of Neelkantha Campus, said they are not able to stay there because of the heavy rainfall.

Children and old-aged people are most affected by the heavy rainfall that last for an hour. People of the district headquarters, however, started to live in their houses a week after the Great Quake on April 25. People who are displaced from the northern part of the district are more affected by the situation. They have moved to the district headquarters following the earthquake.

Following the heavy rainfall, people are engaged in protecting their tents to avoid wetting their clothes and belongings.

Foodstuff collected for the quake-affected areas have also been affected by the weather. Chief District Officer Basudev Ghimire confirmed the news. Hailstones destroyed 450 tarpaulins which were distributed in Baseri VDC. “Tarpaulins which were distributed among the people of Baseri-1 to 4 wards have been destroyed after the heavy rainfall with hailstones”, said VDC Secretary Durga Prasad Rijal.
