Smart television, sometimes referred to as connected TV or hybrid TV, is a TV set with integrated internet and interactive features. Smart TV is a technological convergence between computers and flat screen television.

Smart TV sets offer functions like Internet TV , online interactive media, over-the-top content (OTT), as well as on-demand streaming media and home networking access besides the traditional functions of television sets.

Smart TV should not be confused with internet TV, internet protocol television (IPTV) or web TV. Internet TV refers to receiving television content over the Internet as against cables and satellites. IPTV, on the other hand, is one of the Internet television technology standards used by television broadcasters, while web television is a term used for programmes created by a wide variety of companies and individuals for broadcast on Internet TV.
