Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) has appointed Jun Sakuma as the new Chief Representative of Jica Nepal Office.Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) has appointed Jun Sakuma as the new Chief Representative of Jica Nepal Office.
Sakuma has taken over the job from Tsutomu Shimizu, who completed his tenure in Nepal in March, Jica said in a statement.
Before joining the Nepal Office, Sakuma was working as Executive Advisor to the Director General and Deputy Director General for Planning and ASEAN Partnership, Southeast Asia and Pacific Department in Jica. His career in JICA started in 1989 with his assignment in Planning Division, Expert Assignment Department.
He was Deputy Director General and Group Director of Basic Education Group, Human Development Department from 2010-2013. He has rich experience in JICA’s several departments, including of planning, project formulation, social development and personnel department. “In order to realize Jica’s vision ‘Inclusive and Dynamic Development’ in Nepal, JICA Nepal will continue to provide maximum support to the Nepali people and the government for peace and prosperity,” said Sakuma. “Nepal Office will expedite its assistance towards reconstruction and rehabilitation with Build Back Better concept and manner to support earthquake victims.”
