Vehicular movement along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section has been obstructed due to a landslide at Charkilo in Chitwan since Monday night.

Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project Engineer Shiva Khanal said that there is less possibility of opening the obstructed road section till Tuesday afternoon. It has been raining in the landslide area since yesterday night. Apart from that, Jalbire area has been also been witnessing landslides.

“We have been facing difficulties to remove landslide debris due to heavy rainfall,” Khanal said, adding, “We are waiting for the rain to stop.” “We will start removing the landslide debris soon after the rain stops,” he said.

Thousands of passengers to and from Chitwan, Kathmandu and Pokhara have been stranded mid-way owing to the obstruction.
