Skin care is a key part of a lot of people’s lives. Maintaining good skin enhances your appearance and keeps you looking younger for longer. Who better to teach us about skin care than a someone who works night and day infront of the camera flaunting her smooth and poreless skin?

The Post got a detailed rundown of model Smriti Nepal’s skin care and makeup routine. Nepal is considered a top model in the fashion scene right. She also won the Face of Nepal show in 2020.

Everyday skin care routine

Nepal has a simple daily skin care routine that utilises a handful of products. She begins her day by cleansing her face with the Neutrogena Cleanser and then moisturising it with the Cetaphil Moisturizer. After years of searching for the perfect products, she has finally settled on these two as she feels they suit her skin very well. She completes her morning skin care routine by applying the Derma spf 50 sunscreen.

"As a model, I have to apply makeup to my skin every day. So, I have figured out what looks best on me and simplified my makeup routine,” says Nepal. She explains that sunscreen, she usually applies foundation as the base of her look. She doesn’t like adding eyeshadow to her everyday routine as it doesn’t look natural on her.

With the exception of sunscreen, she follows the same skin care routine at night. The only extra step she takes is wiping off her makeup before starting anything else.

A fascination with face masks

Because her skin is neither too dry nor too oily, Nepal doesn't get many pimples. She keeps her skin care routine uncomplicated as she doesn't want to overwhelm it with many products and steps. “Whatever I’m doing right now is working. So, why fix something that isn’t broken?” she asks.

But the one thing Nepal is a little obsessed with when it comes to skin care is facemasks. To remove pollutants from her skin, she regularly uses a clay mask. She also occasionally applies DIY maks to her face. Her favourites are one made out of turmeric, honey, rice flour, and raw milk.

Nepal’s recommendations

Nepal recommends face maks to everyone willing to improve their skin. However, she also encourages you to research your skin type and what kind of masksto use beforehand. “Everyone has a unique skin type. So, a product that would work amazingly for someone might not do anything for another person,” she explains.

She also stresses on the importance of drinking enough water. Nepal drinks around five litres of water everyday and she definitely sees the difference this makes in her skin. “Water is good not just for your skin but for your health overall. So, make sure you drink tons of water,” says Nepal.
