Salyan
A landslide triggered by continuous rainfall has blocked the Rapti Highway at Chorkhola in ward 3 of Kapurkot Rural Municipality on Friday.
According to Police Inspector Resham Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office, Salyan, an excavator deployed by the road construction company is working to clear the debris. However, the landslide has also halted the ongoing blacktopping work along the Chorkhola-Ramri section.
Khatri said the landslide is huge, and it may take some time to reopen the highway. Due to persistent rain since the morning, vehicles have also been unable to operate on several rural roads across the district.
