Nepal receives over 556,640 doses of Sinovac-CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccine

Nepal received 556,640 doses of Sinovac-CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccine from China on Monday.
The latest shipment is the final consignment of the 4 million doses provided by the northern neighbour under grant assistance.
China on Saturday had supplied 3,443,360 doses of the said Covid-19 vaccine.
The Ministry of Health and Population said that the vaccine doses will be used as first, second and booster shots.
Sinovac-CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccine will be the sixth vaccine to be used in Nepal, as the country has already used AstraZeneca, Vero Cell, Moderna, Janssen and Pfizer-BioNTech on its people.
So far the country has received 52,644,470 doses of various vaccines—AstraZeneca, Vero Cell, Moderna, Janssen, Sinovac-CoronaVac and Pfizer-BioNTech.
The Health Ministry said that the COVAX facility, the United Nations-backed international vaccine sharing scheme, will supply 738,330 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Wednesday. The facility had supplied 761,670 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Friday.
