With 1,782 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 662,570

Nepal on Thursday reported 1,782 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 662,570.
Similarly, 894 people tested positive in a total of 4,512 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 3,446,586 PCR and 252,054 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,256 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 33 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 9,463. The number of active cases stands at 26,639.
According to the ministry, 626,468 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,757 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 553 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 339 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 134 in Lalitpur and 80 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 302 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 23 in Province 2, 934 in Bagmati, 345 in Gandaki, 114 in Lumbini, 29 in Karnali and 35 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 26 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Thursday, 602 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 171—46 in Province 1, 101 in Bagmati, nine each in Gandaki and Lumbini and three each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 2,010 new coronavirus cases and 18 deaths. Similarly, 1,639 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths were reported on Tuesday and 1,690 new coronavirus cases and 18 new deaths were reported on Monday.
