National Covid-19 tally reaches 275,424 with 114 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said Tuesday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,014.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 114 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 275,424.
According to the ministry, 271,495 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 94 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 915.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 43 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 34 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, seven in Lalitpur and two in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 62 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 32 in Gandaki, 12 in Lumbini, five in Province 1, and three in Karnali.
As of Tuesday, 2,221,512 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 2,790 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal had recorded 79 Covid-19 infections on Monday and 53 on Sunday. Similarly, two Covid-19 related fatalities and 60 new cases were recorded in the country on Saturday.
