Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 19,273 with 210 new cases

Nepal on Wednesday reported 210 new Covid-19 cases, taking the national tally to 19,273.
Samples of 52 individuals from Doti, 34 from Parsa, 26 from Syangja, 14 each from Mahottari and Kathmandu; 12 from Dhanusha, eight each from Morang, Kailali and Kanchanpur; seven each from Dhading and Baglung; four from Dadeldhura, two each from Saptari, Nawalparasi (East), Myagdi, Baitadi and Kapilvastu, one each from Sunsari, Sarlahi, Bhaktapur, Rautahat, Tanahun and Surkhet tested positive during tests conducted in the past 24 hours.
Nepal on Tuesday reported one Covid-19 related death and 311 new coronavirus infections, taking the toll to 49. The ministry had confirmed three deaths and 139 cases on Monday and 130 new cases on Sunday. On Saturday, Nepal reported one Covid-19 related death and 109 new cases while 133 new cases were detected on Friday. There were 147 new cases on Thursday.
So far, 14,021 individuals have made successful recoveries after being infected with the coronavirus, which causes Covid-19. Dr Gautam said 146 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
As many as 358,344 PCR tests have been performed in the country so far with 6,037 tests carried out in the past 24 hours. Five districts—Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Manang and Mustang—don’t have any active cases, Gautam said.
