With 204 new cases, national Covid-19 tally reaches 16,168
At 54, Bajura reports the highest number of infections while Kathmandu records 14 in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal confirmed 204 new cases in the last 24 hours as the national Covid-19 tally reached 16,168 on Tuesday.
“Swab samples of 54 individuals from Bajura, 14 from Kathmandu, 11 each from Achham and Baitadi, 10 from Lalitpur, nine from Mahottari, eight each from Arghakhachi and Dhanusha, seven from Doti, six each from Dadeldhura and Morang, five each from Nawalparasi, Rukum (West) and Salyan, four each from Bhaktapur and Saptari, three each from Dang, Gorkha, Makwanpur, Sarlahi, Sunsari and Surkhet, two each from Palpa, Tanahun and Bardiya and one each from Baglung, Dhading, Jhapa, Kapilvastu, Kaski, Lamjung, Nuwakot, Parsa, Ramechhap, Rukum (East), Rupandehi, Sindhuli and Sindhupalchok came positive during tests in the last 24 hours,” said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at the Health Ministry.
The ministry said 688 individuals recovered in the past 24 hours. A total of 7,499 or 46.4 percent of the total infected individuals are said to have returned home after recovering.
The Health Ministry had confirmed one death and 180 new cases on Monday. There were 293 new cases on Sunday while two more Covid-19 related deaths and 232 new cases were reported on Saturday. The country recorded one death and 740 cases, the highest in a single day, on Friday while one death and 473 new cases were reported on Thursday.
Dr Gautam said 6,133 PCR tests were carried out in the last 24 hours at various labs across the country.
“So far, 261,861 polymerase chain reaction tests have been conducted across the country,” said Gautam.
