Two persons died while six others were injured in a road accident in Gorkha on Monday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Lila Raj Lamichhane of the District Police Office, Gorkha said that one seriously injured person died during treatment at Gorkha Hospital while the second victim died while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College in Chitwan.

Police are yet to identify the victim who died at Gorkha Hospital.

Lamichhane informed that the second victim has been identified as 32-year-old Bishnu Khadka, a resident of Shailung Rural Municipality-6 in Dolakha, who was working at the Gajuri branch of the Rastriya Banijya Bank in Dhading.

According to Lamichhane, the accident occurred after the driver of a minitruck, en route to Abukhaireni, lost control which resulted in the vehicle plunging some 20 metres from the road at Bisaunimode of Gorkha-6.

Police informed that of the six injured, two seriously injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the medical college while the remaining four are receiving treatment at Gorkha Hospital.
