Ninety-five houses have been inundated in the Nawalpur district of Gandaki Province due to floods in the Narayani river.

Seventy-five houses have been inundated in Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality-1 Baguwan of the Nawalpur due to the flood in the Narayani river. Locals affected by flooding have been kept in a school in Tribeni.

Rural Municipality Chairman Ghanashyam Giri said the rescue work was difficult as the flood-affected areas had to be reached through Bardaghat, along Daunne road, in the Nawalparasi district of Lumbini Province.

Residents and amenities in the flooded areas are being moved to safe places with the help of the local representatives and the area police office in Tribeni, said Giri.

More than 20 houses have also been inundated in Sehri and Nandpur areas of Madhyabindu Municipality-10 of Nawalpur after the water of the Narayani river flooded the settlement.
