A new art gallery, Om Frame House, has started operations begining Monday. To kick off its new endeavour, the gallery organised an art exhibition which features work by more than two dozen artists.
The exhibit was inaugurated by Chandra Rijal, chairperson of Nepal Trekking Association, who speaking at the event said that the resurgence of art scene in Kathmandu is a welcome sign for Nepali tourism industry. “Art can play a significant role in promoting Nepal’s nature, culture and its traditions. It has also played a big role in promoting Nepal’s tourism sector.”
Speaking at the event, senior artist and art critic Ramesh Khanal said, “The opening of a new gallery comes as a welcome sign for artists and for the Nepali art scence as a whole, as it helps to elevate the value of art in the country.” The exhibit currently on display at the gallery features works by artist IB Mall, Ramesh Khanal, D Ram Palpali, and Roshan Pradhan, among others. The exhibit will run for a month.
