Organised by Sattya Media Arts Collective in their premises in Jawalakhel, the workshop is facilitated by instructor Mrigaja Bajracharya, a visual artist whose main styles are illustration and doodles.
In the workshop the participants are encouraged to explore themselves through creative expression. “The participants will be guided through a process of mindfulness, in order to create their own unique mandala,” said the organisers.
A mandala, which translates to a circle in Sanskrit, is a spiritual symbol found in many cultures around the world. The structure of a mandala symbolises the spiritual journey of an individual. “It is a spiritual guidance tool which aids in meditation practices, through healing, reflection, relaxation, and balance of our mind, body, and soul,” the organisers added.
The workshop will introduce patterns and structures of the mandala to the participants while teaching them how to create a mandala that represents their inner being. By the end of the session, the participants will have created their own unique mandala on various media such as paper and stone.
The workshop will conclude on Friday.
