American vibraphonist-composer Ted Piltzecker will be performing at a concert to be held at Moksh, in Lalitpur, on November 20.
The concert, dubbed Ted Piltzecker and his Nepalese Adventures Ensemble, will see the veteran jazz artist perform alongside local and international musicians—Mariano Abello (on the sax), Rajat Rai (on guitars), Patrick Baniya (on the bass) and Mark Rani (on percussions).
During the concert, the ensemble will perform some of Piltzecker’s original compositions, which range from jazz, world music, tango to funk.
Piltzecker is the author of four acclaimed albums—Destinations, Unicycle Man, Standing Alone, and Steppe Forward, which has been described as “a nice voyage into what good jazz is all about in contemporary times” by the Jazz Review.
Over his stay here in Nepal, Piltzecker has been training musicians with workshops on composition, and the nuances of jazz, at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory.
The concert will kick off at 7:30 pm on Sunday.
