The band will perform at the renowned Korean Broadcasting System Arena in Seoul on Thursday (September 15). Formerly known as the Sports Hall 1 in the KBS Sports world, it was recently refurbished into an international class event hall with a capacity to accommodate up to 3000 people. It is also equipped with state of the art high tech lighting and sound system.
The show is being hosted by Nepal Tamang Association, South Korea, on the occasion of Korea’s Chuseok Festival. Chuseok is a major harvest festival celebrated with three days of public holiday, when people visit their ancestral hometown.
Nepathya is to perform for the Nepali immigrant community based in Korea. For immigrant communities, this becomes an opportunity to get together with friends.
This will be Nepathya’s fourth appearance in the South Korean capital. “We came here for the first time in 2005. We performed at the university auditorium then and now we are performing at the prestigious KBS Arena. We are glad to be raising the bar of Nepali shows,” said Kiran Krishna Shrestha of nepa~laya, the promoters of Nepathya.
“I am thankful that our music has been credited to unite people of all age, gender, creed and tribe within the Nepali community in Nepal and beyond, “ said Nepathya front man Amrit Gurung. “Through our music and shows, our effort remains to motivate people to remain united in Nepal and abroad. United we remain strong.”
After the Korea show, the band will come back home and leave immediately for their two city tour of the US. On 24th of September, the band will perform at the Hammerstein Ballroom of the Manhattan Center in New York.
The theme of the show will be Music for Peace.
“We had staged Nepathya at the Manhattan Center in 2015, and we are glad to be repeating this prestigious venue,” said Kiran Shrestha. “The technical team at the venue was great and we look forward in putting up a great show for our New York audience,” he added.
The band will then travel to San Francisco for their last leg of the tour. Nepathya will perform at the prestigious Warfield Theater in San Francisco on 1st of October. The day also coincides with the first day of Dashain – Ghatasthapana.
“We are excited for this tour to meet our audience from South Korea to San Francisco,” said Amrit Gurung. “We look forward to having a good time with our friends and well wishers in all these places on the eve of Dashain.”
The band is scheduled to return home for Dashian and then work on releasing further songs from their 10th album.
