Art exhibition that features artworks created in a bid to contribute to the conservation and cleanliness of the Bagmati River is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 26, at the premises of Bagmati Civilisation Unified Development Committee.
The exhibition will showcase artworks that were created on a during an art workshop organised last week to mark the 150 weeks of the Bagmati Cleanliness Campaign. The workshop was inaugurated by State-Minister Manju Kumar Chaudhary amid a ceremony. “Human should love nature and celebrate the intrinsic bond that we share. Where there is greenery there is happiness. Only if we preserve soil, air, water and forest, our future will be preserved,” said Chaudhary at the workshop.
Speaking during the event, artist Narendra Bahadur Shrestha said, “Bagmati is our own; it is the emblem of our civilisation, hence we all are indebted to preserve it…Since art is a strong medium to bring about change in society, we have embarked on a journey embracing art to contribute to Bagmati’s cleanliness.”
The workshop saw as many as 3 dozen artists—such as Hariprasad Sharma, Krishna Manandhar, Kiran Manandhar, KK Karmacharya, Shakarraj Singh Suwal, Radheshyam Mulmi, Narendra Bahadur Shrestha, and Nagendra Prasad Poudyal, among others.
