Sandaju ko Mahabharat at Theatre Village
Sandaju Ko Mahabharat, a play penned by playwright Abhi Subedi and directed by Bimal Subedi, is going to be staged at Theatre Village, Lazimpat from September 10.
Sandaju Ko Mahabharat, a play penned by playwright Abhi Subedi and directed by Bimal Subedi, is going to be staged at Theatre Village, Lazimpat from September 10.
The play explores the life and works of the late BP Koirala and his contribution to Nepali politics and literature. The play features Sanjeev Upreti in the lead role (as BP Koirala) and senior theatre artist Suryamala Sharma (Sushila Koirala, as the spouse of BP).
Also featured in the cast are Salil Subedi, Renuka Karki, Divyadev Panta, Manas Raj, Saroj Aryal, Aalok Thami and Pradip Kumar Chaudhary, among others.For the play’s set, six well-known artists from Nepal, including Kiran Manandhar, are depicting Koirala’s portrait on canvasses, which will form the backdrop of the play, while Bijay Maharjan is working to construct a statue of Koirala at the theatre venue.
The play will premiere on September 9 and will be staged till October 10 every day (except for Wednesdays).
